Talentu Strela
National Television Talent Competition • Cabo Verde ( 2011–2013 )
Talentu Strela was Cabo Verde's first nationally televised talent competition, bringing together emerging singers from across the islands to compete in a series of live gala performances before a live audience and a nationwide television audience. Produced over three consecutive seasons, the program became one of the country's most recognized television music events.
My Roles
2011 – Talentu Strela - House Drummer
Performed as the house drummer for the inaugural season, accompanying contestants throughout the competition as part of the live television production.
2012 – Talentu Strela 2 - House Drummer
Returned as one of the core musicians for the second season, helping provide musical continuity as the competition continued to grow.
2013 – Talentu Strela 3 - Musical Director & House Drummer
Promoted to Musical Director while continuing as the house drummer for the third and final season. In addition to performing, I coordinated the musical direction of the live television broadcasts, worked with the band during rehearsals, and helped prepare the musical performances for each gala.
Although the band's lineup evolved from season to season, the bassist, guitarist, and I remained the three constant musicians throughout all three years, providing continuity for the production. During the third season, I also brought Khaly Raçamau into the production, marking the beginning of a long-standing professional collaboration that would later continue with Banda XL.
